VMM-263 Sergeant Major
Sergeant Major Kenneth Bansah

Sergeant Major Bansah began his current assignment as the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 Sergeant Major on 1 September 2019. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in November 2000 and was assigned as a Personnel Clerk. He has attended all required Marine Corps Resident Professional Military Education (PME), Marine Security Guard Detachment Commanders Course, Senior Enlisted Joint PME I & II, and Commanders Course.

His service in the Fleet Marine Force includes: Administrative Clerk with 12th Marines Regiment (June 2001 – July 2001), Legal Chief and Administrative Clerk with III MEF Headquarters Group (July 2001 – September 2004), Administrative Chief, Audit Chief and IA to CMC IG Inspection Team with Headquarters and Service Battalion, MCB Quantico (September 2004 – June 2007), Administrative Chief with Headquarters and Service Battalion, 2d Marine Division (December 2012 – March 2014), Easy Company First Sergeant, Weapons Company First Sergeant and Headquarters and Service Company First Sergeant with 2d Battalion, 2d Marines (March 2014 – January 2017), and Combat Development Company First Sergeant, Tenant Activities Company First Sergeant with Headquarters and Service Battalion MCB Quantico (January 2017 – September 2019).

His service outside the Fleet Marine Force includes: Administrative Chief with Region 6, Pretoria, South Africa, Marine Corps Embassy Security Group (June 2007 – September 2009) and Detachment Commander, United States Embassies Colombo, Sri Lanka and Luanda, Angola, (December 2009 – December 2012).

Sergeant Major Bansah’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal in Lieu of Third Award, and the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal in Lieu of Fourth Award.
